CAPACITY 2018: HIATUS INTERLUDE
A hiatus is a pause or interruption in the continuity of a series or activity, such as the breaks taken in life. These changes of rhythm provide a space to reflect and assess the realm of possibilities within each individual’s unique situation. These breaks become part of an individual’s narrative because life is a series of preludes, interludes and conclusions that weave together to form our journeys.
Interlude is a mirror that hangs in the balance of a brass loop weighted down by wood and leather tassels. The exchange between the fixed suspension and the mirrored reflections are symbolic of the relationship between the introspectiveness of a hiatus and its influences on the direction of one’s journey.
